FAQ

Q1: Are your bowls and plates safe for use in the microwave, dishwasher, and oven?

A: It depends on the material:

  • Ceramic Bowls & Plates: Microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended), and oven-safe up to 450°F (230°C). Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., placing a hot plate in cold water) to prevent cracking.
  • Porcelain Bowls & Plates: Microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe; oven-safe up to 350°F (175°C). Not suitable for broiler use.
  • Stoneware Bowls & Plates: Microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe; oven-safe up to 500°F (260°C). Ideal for baking and serving.

Product pages clearly mark compatibility, and care instructions are included with every order.

Q2: How do I season a carbon steel wok, and why is it necessary?

A: Seasoning creates a natural non-stick surface and prevents rust. Follow these steps:

  1. Wash the wok with hot soapy water to remove factory residue; dry completely with a towel.
  2. Heat the wok over medium-high heat until it turns slightly blue (this takes 5–10 minutes).
  3. Turn off the heat and apply a thin layer of high-smoke-point oil (e.g., vegetable oil, canola oil) with a paper towel; wipe off excess oil.
  4. Heat the wok again for 2–3 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  5. Repeat steps 3–4 3–5 times until the wok develops a dark, shiny patina.

Seasoned woks should be hand-washed (no dishwasher) and dried immediately; a light oil coating after washing will maintain the patina.

Q3: Can I return a wok if I don’t like the non-stick coating, or find it too heavy?

A: Yes! Unused woks (no seasoning or cooking marks) are eligible for return/exchange within 45 days of delivery. You will need to request an RA Number first, and you are responsible for shipping costs plus a 15% restocking fee. If the wok has a manufacturing defect (e.g., peeling coating), returns are free with no restocking fee.

Q4: Are your products safe for use in homes with kids?

A: Yes! All our bowls, plates, and woks comply with CPSC safety standards and FDA food contact regulations:

  • Bowls and plates have rounded edges to prevent accidental cuts.
  • We offer a line of unbreakable melamine bowls/plates specifically designed for kids (microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, shatterproof).
  • Woks have heat-resistant handles to prevent burns; we recommend adult supervision when kids are near cooking woks.

Q5: Do you offer bulk discounts for restaurants, catering businesses, or event planners?

A: Yes! We offer tiered bulk discounts for commercial and organizational orders, with free standard fragile shipping for all U.S. locations:

  • 10–29 units/sets: 15% off retail price + free product samples.
  • 30–49 units/sets: 25% off retail price + dedicated account manager.
  • 50+ units/sets: 35% off retail price + customized packaging options + extended warranty (2 years for bowls/plates, 3 years for woks).

Q6: How should I care for my ceramic bowls and plates to avoid chipping and cracking?

A: Follow these care tips to maximize lifespan:

  1. Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., hot plate to cold counter, cold bowl to hot oven).
  2. Use plastic or wooden utensils instead of metal to prevent scratches.
  3. Load dishwashers carefully—do not stack plates too tightly or place heavy items on top of bowls.
  4. Hand-wash delicate pieces (e.g., patterned plates, thin ceramic bowls) to prevent damage.
  5. Store bowls and plates in padded cabinet organizers to avoid rubbing and chipping.
